Coco San Diego

Where ART thou, Coco?!

Feelin' artsy as hell over here. If you follow me on social media, you probably think all I do is take boomerangs with a cocktail in my hand.

It's not a boomie, but it will do.

Well, you are partially right and while craft cocktails are DEF a form of art, they aren't on display at The San Diego Museum of Art. RUDE. I KNOW. Well on Friday's the museum is open "after hours" for $5 so obvi we had to go check out the sitch.

As soon as I walked in, I could not help myself to make snarky, immature jokes to my husband. Like looking at a blank wall and saying how stunning it was and asking how it made him feel. Of course he entertained me for a few minutes and then rolled his eyes like he normally does and walked away.

However, it really is craytown the talent people have and the shit they come up with. Like this horse. Like WHAT?! First of all, I would be the worst welder ever to even try to form something like this. Not to mention absolutely terrified to melt aluminum all over this wire fenced beauty. You would find me in the burn unit of the hospital if I even attempted this.

I think my favorite exhibit though was the Art of East Asia. The intricate art blew my mind with all the tiny little details to everything. Plus the fact that half of the stuff on display was older than dirt. No joke, it was pretty amazing. I found this whittled sculpture of Beyonce. JOKING. But it most certainly reminded me of her. It is a sculpture of Guayin, the Goddess of Mercy. She had me screaming for mercy.

Am I right or what?! I mean, she is one bad ass babe. Don't F with her. Like FOR REAL. Now I may not be an art connoisseur but I could definitely appreciate all of the beauty it has to offer. I think the most beautiful part of it is that these artist pour their heart and soul into what they do. And who doesn't love passion?

Now after feeling V inspired of all the beauty I saw, I was shockingly ready for my favorite art form. The art of a perfectly crafted cocktail and while the museum doesn't have a bar inside of the actual exhibits (still think this is lame), they do have one in their May S. Marcy Sculpture Court. It is absolutely stunning with views of the California Tower lit up in the distance. So I did what I do best, order a craft cocktail, took a few boomerangs and inhaled the beauty around me at Panama 66.
